He, the Wolf Child
he, the wolf child
the elusive boy who sheltered himself
in a fortress of mystery
masquerading as the boy who cried
wolf
when talking of his fears
clenching his teeth and howling
in light of the moon
occupying time by
chasing shadows for years
he, the wolf child
hid deep within a haystack
guarding the only beauty left
known to any man
his limbs as sticks, for he
said he'd grow into a tree
so he remained rooted there
bricked in by his wild fantasies
oh,
don't cry you gentle lion
we are all beasts inside
it's time you uncaged yourself
from the steel sound of your
beating heart
one day you'll grow back into
the night that once birthed you
and you'll see time is just an eclipse
shielding you from the blinding
light of the sun

This is such a beautiful piece of writing. Having known you for some years now, I can detect the biographical aspects of it, I know you've had times where you've buried yourself deep within that haystack. Guarding what little you've had left. Keep uncaging yourself, be the free-est of free spirits.
